Today is the 44th death anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

 Today is the 44th death anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. He breathed his last on this day in 1373 BS while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (then PG Hospital). He was buried next to the central mosque of Dhaka University. These include a procession to the poet's grave, wreath-laying and Fateha recitation, discussion meetings. In addition to wreath laying at the grave of the poet in the morning, there will be Fateha recitation, discussion. Bangladesh Betar, Television and various private television channels will broadcast special programs today. Besides, Bangla Academy has taken detailed program. A wreath will be laid at the tomb of the national poet on behalf of Bangla Academy at 9 am. A solo lecture and cultural program has been organized at the Academy's Poet Shamsur Rahman Seminar Room at 11 am. In the second part there will be a cultural event with songs and poems of the poet.
